About this blog

Hello and welcome to the Darroch Legacy blog! I’m JaneEyreForce, and if you appreciate observational and humorous legacies, then this is the blog for you. I would liken it to being groped by a moist and sweaty stranger in the back of a pick-up truck. Not enjoyable, and not something you would ever want to repeat.

  • Heirs can be either male or female.
  • I won’t be recording points
  • There will be a poll after each generation. Actually, I lie. That starts from Gen.2 onwards.
  • No cheats!

About the writer

I’m a 24 year old photographer living in a small town in the UK with my husband. I’m a hopeless bibliophile as well as an avid simmer and gamer, so I do enjoy my quiet time.  Please don’t shout or speak too loudly around me. Oh, and people who interrupt all of the time suck. Seriously.

I work from home for Google which is great because I never have to deal with people face-to-face. Other than that, I love spending a lot of time outdoors. My main passion is photography. For those interested I have a page where you can take a look at my work:

  1. Hahaha, that last picture is priceless.

I thought you were older, not by your looks though, but the way you express yourself. I hope it sounds more like a compliment than an insult, because it was meant as a compliment, but I have gotten the evil eyes for saying things like this before. ^.^
    Yeah…it doesn’t stop me. :p

Your work is awesome, I love photography although I’m not a photographer, but I think is super cool to capture moments in time. I always say that if there is a fire in my house, losing my pictures will make me sad more than losing my computer or things of greater monetary value. It is the must vivid way we have of connecting with our past experiences whether it is a family picture, a scenery, or an artistic one. It doesn’t matter, we connect easily through images.

    • Ah thank you! I definitely see it as a compliment so don’t worry!

Thank you very much! I really love that painting you shared on your blog, would love to see more! All my images are saved on my computer so I’d be pretty sad if I lost it in a fire. xD But I understand what you mean. It would be pretty heartbreaking to lose something so personal.

      • Yes of course you will have something absolutely more personal and valuable to lose hehehe.
I really can’t get why you haven’t become famous, your work is really good. I would buy your photos in a heart beat… well, as long as I can afford it hehe.

      • I’m flattered that you think I should be famous! I seem to have slipped under the radar, I guess. However one of my friends is a curator and I’m hoping she’ll be able to help me take a step in the right direction. I think there are a few venues in the area that might let me exhibit for free so I’ll see how that goes. P:

      • Hahaha, the radar is shallow some times.

I wish you the best really!! ❤

  2. Janee are you still experiencing problems with the sims?? I can help you figure out the cause. Not promising I will tell you exactly what it is, but I have experienced the black screen for ongoing amount of time as well. Let me know. 🙂

  3. My first question is: Have you downloaded new CC recently? If so, try taking that out of the game and re-uploading to see what happens. If not. Then the best way to test your game and know for sure is CC (whatever it might be, mods or just regular sims3.pack) is by making a backup copy of the entire game folder as you know it. The entire thing, The Sims 3 folder. Copy/paste to desktop. Then go ahead and delete all the content inside your The Sims 3 folder that is under documents, electronics, daddy, dadda. Upload your game. See if it works then.

  4. I tried searching for your problem but is hard to find something similar. Like I said, Im pretty sure is some added content that is not compatible with the new stuff in the game. Like the EP or patch. I know you said it was working fine with the patch, but still… I once put some mods in my game and it wouldn’t upload. I also suggest you make sure all your mods are up to date with your patch.
But if you are able to run your game clean, I mean after creating the backup and deleting the existing game folder (not the actual folder, but what is inside. All of it. It will regenerate once you start your launcher and play your game). If your game plays fine after doing this, then janee you have a corrupted mod or cc. You have to start process of elimination. usually start with the latest content you installed in the game.

I hope this can help you. Ill be back to check on you later. 🙂

    • I used the Sims Dashboard and it found two pieces of CC that were conflicting with one another, got rid of them both and voila! Game works again. Thank you so much for your help! ❤

      Btw, do you use Facebook?

  5. Yes I do use FB. We should connect 🙂
I’m glad you were able to find the problem. You used the shortcut to what I was explaining hahahaha. Smart. ^^
Also I meant to tell you that a lot of the CC in the houses we love to download from fraud angel or something like that (forgot her name) they have a lot of store content that she converted into .package. I don’t know if you are aware of that. But just in case, that might be what is causing glitches in your game.

Look me up with: Rebecca Claiborne. :p

  6. Thank you for following and visiting Casa de Enchanted Seashells. I have to say I’ve never gamed at all, so I will be learning all about it from you!
